Andile Ngcaba is a South African businessman who has devoted most of his life and career to the field of technology, in particular communications. He is chairman, founder & majority shareholder of investment group Convergence Partners and is also the Executive Chairman of Dimension Data MEA, a subsidiary of the Dimension Data plc Group, which was recently acquired by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT)1.

Through Convergence Partners, Ngcaba is also involved in significant new communications infrastructure projects across Africa including Seacom, the first private sector satellite in Africa, and a recently announced new joint venture to bring high capacity, long-haul terrestrial fibre to South Africa (FibreCo).



With almost 20 years’ experience in the Telecomms industry, and having worked at multiple technology layers in the telecommunications industry, Juanita Clark is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of the FTTH Council Africa, based in Midrand, South Africa.

Juanita is also co-founder of the Fibre Optic Association Africa, a society for fibre optic professionals with a core focus on skills development.



Mike Silber is Head Legal and Commercial at Liquid Telecom. He previously practiced as an independent ICT lawyer and consultant. He was recognised as a leading South African Internet and e-Commerce lawyer and as one of the leading Technology, Media and Telecommunications lawyers in South Africa.

Mike is the Treasurer of the South African Internet Service Providers’ Association and a director of the Tertiary Education and Research Network (RSA), African Digital Networks (DRC) and the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (USA).



Veronica Motloutsi is one of the leading ICT executives in South Africa. A highly talented woman who continues to make her mark in the industry, Veronica is a trusted advisor to CIOs and has deep understanding of ICT and digital solutions.  She sits on the Council of Tshwane University of Technology as co-opted member for ICT.

Veronica is the founder of Africa Lead, a platform aimed to challenge government, funders and policy makers to create a new digital economy that will propel Africa to compete better with other markets.

Geoff Blake has over 25 years’ experience in the Telecommunication sector, the last five within technical regulatory issues in telecommunications. Geoff is currently the Senior Manager for Technical regulation at MTN South Africa. He represents MTN at board level at the Number Portability Company.

His roles and responsibilities include the development and implementation of Technical Regulation strategies and building relationships with Governmental authorities. As part of his activities, he is required to influence the outcome of technical regulations by representing views at various identified stakeholders and governmental authorities relating to policies and regulation. The identification of technical regulatory risk exposure and the provision of guidance to all aspects of the mobile and fixed business.



Alec Nyatanga started his working career at the Sunday Express as an technology researcher & assistant editor. He later moved out of Media to start at City Electrical Factors UK (Doncaster Cables, Tamlite UK) as a field PR and Marketing Executive for a group that specialised in the manufacture and distribution of cable and accessories. From there he was employed by BT/O2 as an assistant Program Manager for infrastructure rehibilitation and maintenance.

In 2008, Alec founded Metallux. Metallux is a solutions driven entity built to provide turnkey infrastructure delivery services for Wired and Wireless Networks. Metallux provides Turnkey Civil and Termination Services as well as routing and switching services for various end users or applications.



Johan van Dalen is the Executive for FTTH and NGN at Openserve, a Division of Telkom. Johan has more than thirty years’ experience in Telecommunications. As an Executive he has been involved in Broadband, Dispatch Centres as well as managing Field Forces on access and core networks.

He is a registered Professional Engineer and holds a Master’s in Business Leadership as well as a B. Eng (Electronics) degree.

His over 19 years’ international experience in the telecommunications sector covers emerging markets from Asia, Central, Southern and Eastern Europe to Middle East and Africa.

His understanding of African telecommunications market and background in strategy and negotiations combined with his commercial experience bring a unique support and value-add to his clients.

Strini Michael joined Vodacom as an EHOD: FTTx Sales and Marketing as of 1 August 2016. He is responsible for the Sales and Marketing of the Fibre to the Home product. Due to his astute ICT knowledge, he was asked to fill the role of Acting Managing Executive as of 1 February 2017 to 31 October 2018. He was an accomplished Senior Manager -Service Solutions & Business Development within the ICT / Telecommunications industry; Strini Michael holds 25 years of dedicated tenure within the Wholesale Services area of Telkom, presently operating under Openserve for Wholesale Business Solutions. With 17 years sales and technical experience; Strini applies his considerable knowledge to drive sales and marketing, manage stakeholder relationships, perform risk assessments and implement effective solutions for large scale market growth.

Extensive experience in strategic Customer Specific Solutions at National level has enabled Strini to maintain robust networking capacity; and implement well-defined strategies in a value adding and sustainable manner. He holds key knowledge of SA ICT markets, Regulatory landscape and relevant technical concepts.
